The owl is a symbol of wisdom. Since this was a commission from the Greek Student Community of Vienna, the design is inspired from the ancient symbol of the owl of Athena found on ancient coins.

The very dark blue tone was used on the logo and card to inspire a sense of seriousness and gravitas.
